Something is really wrong with Contest-Social Gaming module

0
0

Hi, i am trying for weeks to get this one to work without results so far.

First let’s see what is wrong:
It doesn’t get any challengers displayed   at all.
Dates are not working properly. For the first contest if I select month I get end_at value only one day after  created_at value(in the DB). When creating next game I don’t get any value at all in end_at column and it says game never ends.

Gift is present in the database but not in the edit form-This one I fixed  already.

Does any one managed to get this module to work and if yes please explain how?

Hi Shimon,

This is just an example :
If we copy this file : /app/maeORpe/design/desktop/backoffice/template/application/list.phtml
and place the modified file into the directory : /app/local/design/desktop/backoffice/template/application/
It means that specific file placed in local will override the file exists in sae/mae/pe Siberian core directory.

Now if Siberian release an improvement in that specific file, the update goes to default Siberian core structure which is the sae/mae/pe directory.
So we will not see that improved feature because our modified code in local directory override it.

Therefore, we should create new module and place in the right spot as guided by Siberian.

Sincerely,
Ariv Ontowiryo

Hi Shimon,

Specifically I have consult with my Siberian contact and they sent me this message:
“He must follow updates of Siberian when a module/hook changes the “default” behavior. It’s ok, but he must follow and do the necessary support”.

WooCommerce module user sync and plugins

0

Hi,

The WooCommerce module seems to do most of what we want for our app to store integration, however I have a couple of quetions:

Does the WooCommerce module sync users from WordPress through to the app, or is there user passthrough for this?  Can new WooCommerce users register via the app?

If we have additional plugins on WooCommerce, for example subscription products and membership products, does any of this functionality come through via the Siberian module?

Thanks,

Trevor.

Hi Trevor,

I had once the chance to test this module. As far as I remember… :
1. “sync users from WordPress through to the app” : They don’t share the database. It allows you to add user to WP Db but doesn’t sync the app user profile.
2. “does any of this functionality come through via the Siberian module” : Unfortunately not. Its API only read some basic functionality.

To make sure, would you please email Siberian contact@siberiancms.com and ask more detail.

App Permission

Hello,

Please note that, the application that I built is asking permission for:

1- take picture and videos

2- modify or delete the contents of your SD card

3- run at startup

4- control flashlight / control vibration / prevent phone from sleeping

So how can I control these permission from the builder or backoffice itself and disable them as I’m only using only template and links forwards to my website.

Appreciate your help on this matter…

Thanks Bogomil for your prompt feedback,

So shall I need to remove the above permissions only from AndroidManifest.xml and thats it?

And regarding the builder or backoffice, so nothing on these panels related to App permissions?

Thanks again

Nothing that i am aware of Marvin-there are no confs in builder and backoffice for that.

Hi Marvin,

As of now disabling un-use feature is not possible because it’s tied to the feature.
I have tried to alter the app source code long ago but causing app to fail :D
So, it is not recommended at all altering the core.

Hello Ariv,

So why & how these permissions added to my code ???

Many thanks

Hi Marvin,

The basic: Siberian is an app generator. User can add or remove page/feature/module/layout without needing to republish the app. It means, all modules and layout available on CMS is automatically loaded into app as well.

To modify (which is not recommended), user need to understand Siberian Structure. To alter the code, user need to understand Js, php/phtml, etc..

Now, if you want to modify app permission, you also need to remove all related features in the app source code structure.

I have done once but app failed to open and so I stop trying. There are some other methods I have done but now decided to follow Siberian rules :)

Please feel free to email contact@siberiancms.com if my opinion doesn’t satisfy you ;)

Sincerely,
Ariv Ontowiryo

Thank you Ariv,

But kindly note that I didn’t publish the application yet on google play, I’m just testing the apk, so is it possible to remove these permissions from AndroidManifest.xml before uploading to google play?

Thank you

Hi Marvin,

Visually, to satisfy users eyes, it is possible.
But…
Technically, all related coding to the deleted permissions must be removed as well, otherwise the app will be rejected.

Well.. thank you so much Ariv for your clarifications,

But I’m really getting wonder why these permissions has been included on the code itself and I’m not using any of Siberian modules!

Also there is no way to disable them through builder or backoffice…

Hi Marvin,

If you use MAE/PE, at this moment, there is no way to disengage the features easily and safely.
If you use SAE along with scripting language skills, you can remove un-use feature manually.

Some people think it is a disadvantage but in my opinion that is the beauty of SiberianCMS.

Hi Shimon,

This is one good example on release 4.13.17, Siberian improve the visibility of App Storage Current Usage :
https://updates02.siberiancms.com/design/images/4.13.17/app-size.png

Assume we previously modify this specific section and place in the ./local directory. Our modified code will override this update (user can not see the improved feature).
And as suggested by Siberian (from my previous post above), we need to update the modified code and provide the necessary support for our client/customer.

Sincerely,
Ariv Ontowiryo
